Blogs in the Field

http://coolcatteacher.blogspot.com/

I chose this blog because it gives really good resources for the classroom, and it also gives different lesson plans and the reason they are doing this type of lesson. The layout is a little confusing because there are so many external links to click it makes the page a little cluttered, but I also think it is a good idea to be giving out different resources. Lastly the reason I chose this one is because there is a blog post in here where the teacher is making her students who are six years old make a digital profile.

Technology in Education

Technology is something that is very important for classroom use no matter the age. I think that by having technology in the classroom it expands the students knowledge of how to use it and helps many students. Students who are special needs especially benefit from technology and are more likely to be integrated into a general education classroom with a little bit of ease.

I chose this article because I will be certified to teach early childhood and technology is very important to me and my classroom. One section of the article focus's on how technology doesn't allow students to focus on emotions, social interaction, and cognitive/physical development. I do agree with this but I also think that is is good for students to be using different types of technology to have different learning experiences, but not to use the technology all the time.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is to encourage my students to have fun while learning. I want my students to be active in their learning and give me feedback whether it is verbal and non-verbal, no one likes to sit in a classroom bored. My classroom will be very welcoming and feel very safe so all students know they can participate freely here without being judged by others. I want to incorporate all different learning styles so every student has a fair chance at learning what they need to be. Lastly I think it is very important that everyone is treated with respect in my classroom, if everyone is respectful is makes the room run smoother with only a few problems here and there.

Autobiographical Information

My name is Aimee Kornish, I will be graduating in the fall of 2013 with a major in early childhood education.  I currently live in Appleton with my parents and siblings. I have one older brother who is twenty five years old and just graduated this past year with a major in physical and adaptive education. I also have an older sister who is twenty four years old and goes to UW Milwaukee for her masters in architecture and just recently got married to Joe who is also twenty four years old and also attends UW Milwaukee for the same thing. This past semester I took a basic computers skills class going over Microsoft office and the different parts to it, so I do not have that much technology experience.
